Well, oddly enough I haven’t talked much about this here at Do the Woo. But chances are if you connect with me often, you know that early next year Judy and I are relocating to Porto, Portugal.
How did this happen. Well, in a nutshell, it started with WordCamp Europe in June and ended up with us spending out time last week in San Francisco submitting our application for our visa. Of course there is a lot that had happened between all of that and I’ve been keeping everyone up-to-date here and there.
So what does this mean for Do the Woo?
That’s a tiny bit complicated to answer. But essentially, it doesn’t have any bearing on what we do and continue to do. On the other hand, it does play well into our future plans here at Do the Woo.
In an earlier WooBits, I did share about the upcoming Do the Woo version 4.0. This was a very general post as I a lot of what we will be doing is still in the works with twists and turns daily. But back to what it means for Do the Woo. Now the fact that I said the HQ is relocating there, well, that literally means my home office, DTW central. Aside from thinking of what the acoustics will be like in my new home office, well that is something to think about later.
Let me quickly turn you to one of the three major aspects of Do the Woo 4.0.
Extending global reach and raising voices worldwide
This is what we are working on…
Our goal is to tap into and map out the underrepresented WooCommerce builder communities in Europe, Asia, Africa, South America and others both highlight and connect with other existing communities worldwide. Our business and personal relocation to Porto, Portugal will be an asset to these efforts as well.
I think that gives you an idea of where I’m headed with this as being a factor in our relocation when it comes to our business. And there is a lot packed between the lines of that statement.
Of course, there is still stuff to work out on this part of the roadmap, and not knowing when we will be making the move exactly, plays into that as well. But I can say I am excited both professionally and personally on this new adventure.
