Tech Predictions

<creator_meanderings>

The month of January passed. And predictions for 2026 have bubbled up everywhere. And as someone that follows a lot of people in the open web and who are proponents of open source, well, I see a plethora of them on social and on sites.

For content creators, it’s murky waters that many wade into.

Personally, when I have been asked, I tend to skirt the subject. It’s not a lack of confidence, but, more or less a tendency to also avoid the “what ifs?”

To some degree for me, it’s fun and interesting seeing what people say across the board about so many things. I don’t listen to or read them all, but sometimes I may drop in on a few. More out of curiosity than considering it advice.

I typically see three kinds of prediction.

The people who know their and really blindside us with something more obscure and from experience.

The second are those who think they know what they are talking about but are basically just blowing wind.

And lastly, the ones that are obvious. They feel that their predictions are so original, but at the same time there is overwhelming evidence that, yes, this will happen. Kind of a no-brainer and very obvious.

Overall, it has happened from the beginning of time, or there about. And for a few, I hope, it’s the opportunity to say, “I told you so.”
