For me personally, I have known James since he founded IconicWP in 20212. Over the years he has brought incredible products to the Woo ecosystem and been a leading voice in the community.

Before he became host, James was a guest on this podcast six times, with the first one being episode #19 on May 30th, 2019.

And most recently he joined our hosting team here to bring us insights deeper into behind the scenes at WooCommerce.

James announcement

To give you an idea of what James will be doing, here is the post he shared on X.

I’m excited to say that as of today, my responsibilities at

@WooCommerce are evolving. I have been asked to take the role of Core Product Manager!

Previously, I’ve led specific areas of core, like order management, but now I will help shape the overall vision of WooCommerce.

I’ll work alongside all of our teams to ensure we’re heading towards a shared vision of what WooCommerce should be, for builders and merchants alike.

I’ll be driving the “more in core” initiative, to make sure our base plugin has all the essentials you’d expect from a modern ecommerce platform.

I’ll be exploring what tools we can provide for builders to make their experience more efficient when creating a store.

I’ll also be focusing heavily on our mobile app and how we can best utilise that for merchants and shop managers.

But right now, I want to connect with you. I’m looking forward to chatting with builders and merchants, to see what we can do to make WooCommerce work better for you.

Well, again a big congrats to James and make sure you catch his episode monthly here at Do the Woo.
