Navigating Human Value in an AI-Driven World

The Value of Being Human in an AI World

“And this is also a great thing that you could use AI for and say, listen, this is why I love to dictate, to talk to AI and say, listen, my brain is scrambling. I’m thinking about this and this and this and this. And I’m convinced there’s a connection between that and that and that. And I know, and then something comes from the back on the left and it comes from the bottom and it comes from the top. And this is how I see it. And this is what I see coming. And then I’m going to ask it to roast me as hard as it can. So this is the first thing I do with any new thing I get with LLMs. I’m going to say, okay, stop sleazing. So yeah, anyway, I’m digressing. No, no, no. But the thing is, if you keep seeing that and then you want that product that you’re trying to build or that service or that idea. You want it to finish. You want to see it finished. And then you keep grabbing on lines and you keep grabbing things and seeing, oh, wait a second. I mean, this is actually what happened to me when I was preparing my talk about the influence of accessibility on SEO.”

The Shrinking Marketing Channels

“The options are shrinking. Because one thing that we didn’t talk pre-show is I saw on X, the everything app, somebody talking about how Google Ads as a product is getting worse. And this was somebody, and he got a lot of people that are spending, we’re talking multimillion dollars a month in Google Ads. So like big spenders, right? And he was highlighting how the product of Google Ads was getting worse. And possibly because like Google has to juice the thing to meet their earnings and stuff like that. But again, so if Google Ads is not good either, right? Like if all those companies are kind of like playing with their ad product to, to, that’s another channel that’s like, is it good? Is it not good? So you’re left with, you know, it’s, it’s complicated. Like how do you reach customers in a repeatable way. I think everybody’s struggle right now. “

Today’s thought…

“Keep the simple tasks alive. We want to use AI to tackle those complex problems, as well as mundane, simple tasks. But don’t eliminate all of those easier tasks. Some of those mysteriously satisfy us. Because in the end, our mind and body needs to keep active and those small tasks are part of the equation.” ~ Bob Dunn
