Come on people. Seriously, you believe email is dead? And there are still people on that bandwagon?
What really comes out of these statements that “anything is dead revolves around tunnel vision. Selecting reasons that you feel outweigh anything else that could even hit at the fact that email is alive and well.
Take me for example. If I was to ignore everything outside Open Channels FM, yes, I could say that email is dead. In a odd way. See, I have discovered that in most cases, from years of experience, running a podcast network, that email marketing is dead for me.
Notice I said email marketing, not just email. And for me, not everyone.

And what about all the email spam? What about the times of junk mail and door to door salesmen. We can live with it. We have ways around it. Mark it spam, drop it directly in the wastebasket or turn off the lights and don’t answer the door.
Email is in many parts of my business and in my life and it still kicks butt. When I am talking with a potential sponsor, we rarely communicate any other way. In fact, I could safely say email was always the preference.
Plus all the ways people use email is still used to communicate with me, both personally and professionally.
But what about spam, as a side note? What about the times of junk mail and door to door salesmen. We can live with it. We have ways around it. Mark it spam, drop it directly in the wastebasket or turn off the lights and don’t answer the door.
On the flip side of the death of email, I know hundreds of businesses who not only grow using email, but have become very successful through their email marketing.
These kind of statements are typically the “all about me” statements. Or the desire to research where email is failing or fading out without looking beyond that and the wins email has brought to others.
Of course I could go on and on here. I could bring in people who could shut you down the minute you said email is dead. By God, we even have a sponsor that can attest it’s not six feet under.
Just take a momen and look outside the email is dead bubble, In fact, give it a good poke with a needle and burst the damn thing.
