Open Channels FM Heading to the Web Summit 2026 in Lisboa

Next month in November, I’ll (Bob) be attending the Web Summit in Lisbon, Portugal.

I have been to conferences in the past that have had attendance up to 15,000, but never one that has over 70,000 attendees. That’s a lot of people.

A few months ago I applied for media creditation, unsure of their parameters as there is every imaginable big media brand showing up there.

But a couple of months later I got the email saying that we were invited as media and I was given a pass. Which I’m very excited about.

Since then I have narrowed it down to my three main goals:

  1. Meet some of the media big brands, and yes, some of the speakers. I will have access to the Media Village, an exclusive area for media and speakers at the event and functions as our media working hub. And of course looking forward to visiting some booths and making some new friends.
  2. Attend a variety of sessions, just because there are some very amazing topics and speakers.
  3. Record and write some content. Still formulating my plan, or my non-plan, I’m sure I will come back with some great stuff to share.

The most interesting part is that I’m not sure if I’ll find any of those 70,000 people, anyone I know. But to be honest, I’m looking forward to a crowd where I don’t personally know a lot of people.

If you are curious about it, just visit their website. And if you are going, let me know.
