BobWP:
Hey everyone. BobWP here and welcome to 2025, and a special episode of On WPCommunity. I wanted to kick the year off with a bit of what’s happening here at Do the Woo, but before I do that, I hope everyone had a good holiday season enjoying whatever you celebrated with your family, friends, and community. Also, from me personally, Happy New Year.
Well, myself, I spent the holidays getting some nice relaxation minus any recordings or production work, but I was busy with a lot of details. Prepping for the new year, including my favorite thing, working out our schedule for the year. Now I’m being a bit sarcastic and to be honest, still working on it. But here at Do the Woo, when you talk about goals and things for our New Year’s, ours is the same. Keep on elevating the voices of this incredible community. Yes, we continue to stand behind all things WordPress and Woo and are looking forward to this year.
I’m sure many things will transpire over the next 12 months here. Do the Woo, but let me drop some of the things that we’re working on and of course I will be elaborating more on all these things, both on the podcast and blog. Very soon. We are on the cusp of WordCamp Asia and do the Woo, not only a media partner, but a sponsor as well. Following that is CloudFest in Germany in March where we are once again a media partner. And yes, we are planning sponsoring WordCamp Europe in June.
During the last couple months of last year, we have done quite a bit of updates and changes here Do the Woo. Many of them are still being worked on, but for example, we are doing some redesign of the site, some new shows and hoes kicking off the new year, working on bringing video into play on some of the shows.
Yes, you heard that right and a lot of odds and ends. That will culminate on our seventh anniversary January 17th, where we will be celebrating by releasing do the Woo 5.0. Okay. If you recall, I planned on following our last version, 4.1 with 4.2, but since we can do what we want to do here at Do the Woo and there is a lot to kick off, I have officially decided it will be version 5.0.
Now. As I said, more details will be coming out on all of this between now and January 17th. And lastly, moving into 2025, I’d like to give a heartfelt thanks to our sponsors. As you know, Do the Woo is not a side gig for me. It’s a business that I devote my entire time to, and this would not be possible if not for our sponsor.
So a big thank you and virtual hug to Avalara, GoDaddy, Hostinger, Kinsta, Omnisend and Weglot. Please take a moment to either visit our sponsorPage@dotheboo.io slash sponsors head directly to their sites or stop by their booths next time you see them at WordCamp. So in closing, I hear in the content world that less is more. Sorry, that’s not what we are about here at Do the Woo and with a bit of relaxation I got over the holidays. It’s time to Do the Woo in 2025. See you soon. Woo.
