BobWP’s back with a quick update before we hit episode 700. Yep, that big round number is just around the corner. In this episode, Bob reflects on reaching those milestone moments, chats about the ongoing saga of rebranding the show, and gives us the scoop on why solo “talking head” episodes are getting retired. He’s all about those real conversations, so expect a new chapter with more guest chats and less solo updates going forward.
If you’re curious about what’s next, stick around and get ready for a fresh vibe as we roll into episode 700.

BobWP:
Hey Bob, WP here. And the next episode after this one that will be coming out on Thursday will be episode 700. It seems that when you hit those every hundred marks, a small part of yourself or the podcaster says, oh, that’s kind of cool. And as you eye for that 1,000 mark, well, it’s still in the distance, but it will happen.
So as a result, each time we’ve hit that hundred mark, it’s not some wild party, but we try to make something that is a little focused on what we are doing. As often these episodes can creep up on you. So in the next episode we’ll catch up on the ongoing saga of our rebrand. Now more importantly is the fact that this episode next one will be end of my talking head episodes. You know, just me sans conversation with anyone else. Now these have been done mostly around updates here at Open Channels fm, but I figure I could do that on posts on our blog and weave it in and out of some of our conversations moving forward. And as you probably have heard me say, I’m not a big fan of talking head podcasts, either doing them or listening to them. I just feel conversation is always so much better.
And now you may be asking why two episodes instead of just one? Making this the final one. But I did it for a couple reasons. First, with that said, I’m working on a potential plan to get behind the mic again more consistently. And obviously, as I said, not by myself. As you may notice, I haven’t been as much behind the mic in conversations for a while as I left the spotlight on our hosts. And of course our guests. Also been very busy with a lot of behind the scenes stuff, production, etc. Rebranding. And it was nice break to step away from the mic. Still working my way through how I’m going to get this started and hey, you’ll know it when you know it.
Secondly, I wanted a filler for this episode so I’m kind of cheating here. Number 699 so that the next one will be 700 and that will be my last Talking Head podcast. Of course I want to say never say never. You know, there may be an instance something comes up, but let’s just say next time you hear me. Well actually not the next time you hear me. See, I’m already confusing myself after episode 700. The next time you hear me, hopefully it will be in a conversation with someone.
And lastly, of course this gives an opportunity to give a shout out to our three sponsors, GoDaddy, OmniSend and Woo and when you think about it, these three can really help you or your customers or your clients with solving a heavy load of what comes to your site, posting, email and e commerce. So if you’re just getting started or you’re getting to a pivotal point with your site, or maybe you’re building something for a client, consider them and the role they play and taking us Open Channels FM into the next big phase of our site here. So as I said, next episode 700 tune in as I have been pretty quiet as we have had several paths through our rebranding.
