Recently, our active podcast lineup on the network has dropped back down to four, which means only that there will be no new episodes on Open Makers, but all shows, notes, transcripts, etc. will continue to live on in the archives here at Open Channels FM.
So simply said, those are not going anywhere.

Bob shared that the podcast has been running for over 8 years and initially focused on giving builders and makers a platform to share what they were working on. He emphasized a new interest in discussing deeper topics such as the philosophy of open source, the forces shaping the open web, and overarching industry trends, rather than just individual journeys.
Some Historical Context
Over eight years ago when this podcast started, it was named Do the Woo. During a lot of those years, our focus was on the builders, WooCommerce and then WordPress builders specifically, their journeys, challenges, and the how and why behind their product. As the years passed, we took on a broader context of the web and our guests and hosts.
June of 2026, we rebranded to Open Channels FM with a new vision. Though we kept those conversations going here and there, the bigger picture of open source and the open web grew.

The Challenge
With this change, we moved more away from just talking about one open source CMS and found a sweet spot in more diverse conversations.
Shortly after the rebrand, we shifted our podcasts. The result: Open Makers was created to house all those episodes. And today we are at the point with our content shift that new episodes that used to fit under Open Makers, well, we won’t be doing those anymore.
Since August that shift has started. And I’m sure if you haven’t already noticed, you will over the next few months.
