Hey, Bob here, and I’m gonna give you a fair warning. This episode may give you some sense of déjà vu. Or in other words, didn’t this happen before? Well, yes, it did. We can call it a quick pivot, and you can consume it as a replacement from the episode last Friday, if you happened to listen to that. But hang in there, I’ll make this short and to the point on changes with our newly formed podcast, Open Signal.
Now, I’m not going to go into what I said before. I’m going to just tell you as it is. So, Open Signal is going to be my personal commentary. It’s going to be solo, under the open source and open web umbrella. It will be my takes shaped. It will be my own takes shaped by decades of experience, not tied to any single quote or guest moment as I previously planned.
I’ve been a podcaster for 12 years, founder of Open Channels FM here, 6.9 decades of life and in business since 1993. I’m optimistic, I’m open-minded, flexible, and quick to laugh. In fact, my wife and I, Judy, we’ve called ourselves cockroaches for years and years, both in life and in business, which literally means whatever has been thrown at us, we’re still here. Ironically, for someone who has been a podcaster for 12 years, I usually rather listen than talk. So hosting a solo talking show is very different for me.
Now, it’ll always touch on open web and open source, but even at times it may touch it in an odd way. I’ll be personal, direct, give you honest opinions. No claim to being right or sharing some epiphany. It’s just me being honest. Now, some episodes you’ll agree with, some you won’t, and that’s part of why the show exists. I’m not here to force my opinions on you, but hopefully get you thinking about things.
And as planned before, I will strive to publish these on Friday. Not promising on that, nor am I not promising it will be just one show a week. Maybe there’ll be 2. You know, sometimes I want to throw in an extra one, you know, life.
Well, that’s it. Wanted to make it short. And with the risk of repeating myself, I hope you enjoy it.
