Say hi to Woo.com

Will this is the reason for today’s show. Now I could give you all the details, but instead I asked David Callaway from Woo to share the details about Woo.com, the home for all things WooCommerce. Here’s David…

Hey Bob. This is David Callaway from the Woo Creative and Comms team. We’re excited to let the Woo and WordPress community know that WooCommerce.com is now Woo.com. But why your audience might be asking. Many of our loyal customers have referred to us as Woo for years. It’s a brand name. It’s fun, punchy, and shows how excited we are to empower and celebrate success for merchants and developers. So Woo is how we’re referring to our brand and our company. While WooCommerce is our core product.

The move to Woo.com is part of the strategy. We’re also taking advantage of the change to streamline our product naming system. Woo is now the root name for most of our main products. A good example of this is the recent change from WooCommerce Payments to Woo Payments. Simpler and clear, right? We’ll be updating more of our product names in the coming months to align with this system.

But nobody freak out. WooCommerce is not going away. It’s our core software that powers millions of online stores. You also don’t need to change the way you talk about Woo or WooCommerce. You’ll hear us talk about the company name, woo, and the products including WooCommerce.

Of course, nobody gets this better than the do the Woo audience. You’ve been doing the Woo for years. So what do you need to do as a Woo fan or WooCommerce user? Not much. We’re taking care of all the technical stuff, and the remaining product names will be updated over the next few months. If you point folks to WooCommerce dot com, you can now point ’em directly to Woo.com. So links don’t go through a redirect, but of course, WooCommerce dot com will redirect to woo.com. Thanks for the time and looking forward to seeing everybody on Woo.com.

That’s it, and it really makes sense, right? The next phase in the world of WooCommerce.

Now I cannot leave it at that, as this makes me think of a question that our host Robert Jacob brought up around Woo and WordPress. And when both of them become a more common web term, if that hasn’t already happening. And I can tell you, Robert has been bringing up the subject of Woo.com for sometime.

I can only wonder how many times in our over 400 episodes you have heard “Woo”?

Well, again, in the WordPress and WooCommerce ecosystem, it’s another step into the future. So that’s it. And I hope you, Do the Woo.com.
